The Lower Tiers November League One Manager and Player Of The Month

November saw a battle to claim top spot in League One as ex-Premier League clubs, Portsmouth and Sheffield Wednesday started their pursuit of promotion.

Here are the winners:

Manager Of The Month – Leam Richardson

A tough but great month for Leam Richardson as he saw his team finish the month in second with a game in hand over top of the league Rotherham United.

However, the Wigan manager deserves all the praise for helping save Charlie Wyke’s life after the striker collapsed in training.

Richardson stated that he endured one of the “hardest, toughest weeks” of his career after striker, Charlie Wyke collapsed in training.

The resilience and the fantastic form of Wigan Athletic has put Leam in the running for Manager Of The Month.

The Latics only played three league games this month due to their tie at home to Oxford United was postponed due to a number of positive COVID-19 cases within the Oxford camp.

However, Wigan won two out of the three including a massive away win against previous league leaders, Plymouth Argyle.

Player Of The Month – Will Keane

The striker scored in all three of Wigan’s league games during November.

Keane and Callum Lang have created a good partnership up front and that showed during their recent 2-1 win over high-fliers Plymouth Argyle after they both scored one each.

The striker has failed to succeed at any of his previous clubs, but Leam Richardson seems to be getting the best out of him, this season.
