Possessing emerging stars is a blessing for any side in the EFL. The sale of these players delivers a huge injection of cash for clubs due the transfer fee itself, various bonuses and sell-on clauses.
The 2021/22 season has seen many young players burst onto the scene in the EFL, but a select few have stood out more than others.
Jack Rudoni – AFC Wimbledon

The 20-year-old has really kicked on this season after scoring seven goals in 17 appearances in League One this season.
Wimbledon have opted for a 4-2-3-1 formation during recent times. Rudoni has featured on the left and the right side of the midfield three, as well as scoring in his only start as a striker against Sheffield Wednesday.
This proves that Jack Rudoni is a versatile option for Wimbledon boss, Mark Robinson making the youngster a great asset for the football club.
Mark Robinson was appointed as interim manager on the 30th January 2021 following the sacking of Glyn Hodges and was later appointed as permanent manager on the 17th February after a good run of form.
The emerging star has benefitted massively from Robinson’s arrival after the winger scored four goals as well as assisting four from when the manager came in until the end of the 2020/21 season.
The 2021/22 has seen Rudoni better this form by scoring three more than his previous tally, last season.

Sheffield United signed the 21-year-old on loan from Wolves in the summer and has been a bright spark for the Blades ever since.
Morgan Gibbs-White has a vague experience of Premier League football but the drop down to the Championship has given him the chance to get regular first team football.
The Wolves loanee has certainly snapped at the opportunity after scoring five goals along with four assists this season.
He’s typically played on the right side of midfield as well as an attacking midfielder for the Blades and has still featured regularly since the sacking of Slavisa Jokanovic and the arrival of Paul Heckingbottom.
Jokanovic, the man that signed Gibbs-White, endured a poor start to the season as Sheffield United manager which eventually led to him being sacked in November.
Paul Heckingbottom came in as his replacement and kept his faith in the emerging star, which paid off in a 3-2 win against Cardiff City after the 21-year-old was involved in all three Blades goals.
Levi Colwill – Huddersfield Town (on loan from Chelsea)

The centre back hadn’t played any senior football before this season but has made 17 Championship starts for Huddersfield which has allowed him to showcase his talent.
Huddersfield have only conceded 15 goals in the games that Colwill has been playing in, including seven clean sheets.
Terriers head coach Corberan spoke highly of Levi Colwill stating: “I think he’s going to be one of the most important centre backs for this country in the future”

The emerging star helped his side to three clean sheets in his three starts for the under 19’s. he even scored his first goal for England in a 2-0 victory over Sweden U19’s.
A loan to a Premier League club is written in the stars for Levi Colwill next season as he continues to impress.
Fabio Carvalho – Fulham

He’s emerged as a key player for Marco Silva and has proved that he’s a potential star for the future after a series of exciting performances.
Liverpool and Real Madrid have been sniffing around with view of snatching him from promotion-chasing Fulham.
Carvalho has proven that he’s capable of playing at the top level as he managed four goals in eight starts during the 2020/21 Premier League season.
The wonderkid generally plays in an attacking midfield role but can also play on either side of the wings.
The attacking midfielder has scored four goals as well as providing one assist in the Championship this season.
Although Fabio Carvalho was born in Portugal, he’s chosen to represent England at youth level. England under 18s have been lucky enough to possess his talent but a step up at international is expected sooner rather than later.
Ryan Giles – Cardiff City (on loan from Wolves)

A series of previous loan moves at AFC Telford, Shrewsbury Town, Coventry City and Rotherham United has prevented Giles from making his Premier League debut for Wolves.
However, the left midfielder has settled in well at Cardiff City and currently has the most assists in the league with nine – joint with Reading’s John Swift.
This won’t have gone unnoticed back at Wolves as their strategy of loaning out their emerging stars seems to be paying off.
The creativity of Ryan Giles has made him one of the first names on Cardiff’s team sheet even after their change of manager.
